Description
Purpleheart is a evergreen-or shall I say everpurple plant with long, pointed, alternating, and slighty succulent purple leaves. It has cute little three petaled pinkish flowers, and even if the entire plant is cut above ground, it will grow back from the root node.
Purpleheart spreads REALLY fast, and from nothing more then a small chunk of stem with a leaf, it will root. And as just mentioned, its hard to get rid of unless you dig it out.
Does add a nice bit of color to a chunk of a yard, as long as you keep it trimmed back if you dont want its long drooping stems to explore elsewere and grow roots when they touch the ground.
As an indoor plant, it is amazing at cleaning the air, especially of volatile organic compounds which both pollute to atmosphere and can cause respiratory irritation.
